The office is responsible for directing and development programs to enhance the quality of student life at UT. Additionally, the Office of Dean of Students performs the following functions that promote student engagement, involvement, and life-long learning:
* Oversees the Student Conduct Code and Student Judicial Affairs
* Advises Student Government
* Advises Campus Activities & Programming (CAP), UT's official
student programming board
* Oversees 250+ student organizations at UT, provides advising,
policy administration, training, and record-keeping
* Oversees the budget process for all recognized student organizations,
as well as departments that report to the Associate Vice President
& Dean of Students
* Oversees the Student Activities Committee, which allocates special
funding and collaborative funding to student organizations
* Coordinates the Student Affairs Programming Council
* Facilitates professional development opportunities for staff
within the Division of Student Affairs
